At the initiative of Shri Madan Mohanka, Chairman, TegaIndusties Ltd. and also Chairman, AHEAD, a seminar by Dr. Bhusan Punani, Executive Director, Blind People’s Association and an international speaker and practitioner in the field of CSR and capacity building for the NGOs, was organised at AHEAD. During his stopover in Kolkata on his lecturing tour to Dhaka, Bangladesh, he was kind enough to spare some time at AHEAD to make deliberations along with interactive session. The seminar was attended by distinguished guests from Tega Industries, teachers and staff of AHEAD, some parents and volunteers. He stressed on the importance of developing the organization to have good visibility and evidence of good work so that people are motivated and convinced to donate money. He highlighted the importance of creating transparent systems in the organization.
The life-story of our founder and Hony. President Dr. Asesh Kanta Banerjee Choudhuryhas been made into a film “Flows Uneven – the World on Wheels” by Mr. Abhishek Ganguli, celebrating his infinite spirit to share and care for all. The inauguration ceremony was held in AHEAD auditorium. The special Guest of Honour was Sri Soumitra Chatterjee, the iconic Bengali film and stage actor and poet , awardee of Padma Bhusan and Dada Saheb Phalke, who is also AHEAD’s Brand Ambassador who inaugurated the film in the presence of dignitaries of RCCM, American Centre and members of SantragachiSagenSakam Dance Group who performed tribal dance in the film. It was also attended by teachers, parents and many other guests.
On World Disability Day, 3rd December 2014, the students of AHEAD participated in an exhibition cum job fair organized by Govt. of West Bengal at RabindraSadan. A walk was also organized to raise awareness in the society. AHEAD also participated in the walk and the exhibition and showcased many products from the vocational unit. A few students also got job offers from the job fair.
